First Light, Your Way
Welcome first light from bed, your private patio or jacuzzi. An active broadcast offers a glimpse of the highlands at that moment; recordings look back at an earlier time. Neither is a weather forecast.
Sunrise, mountain visibility and a sea of clouds depend on the weather and cannot be guaranteed.
Kintamani can feel particularly cold before sunrise and after sunset. We have observed temperatures as low as approximately 10°C during the colder dry-season months from June to September, particularly July and August. As the day unfolds, clear skies may give way to cloud, mist or light rain, and conditions can change quickly from one side of the caldera to the other.
Early morning frequently offers the best chance of open mountain views, but visibility varies with season, wind, cloud and rainfall. Clear views are never guaranteed.
For colder hours, we provide a hot-water bag in every suite and additional blankets on request. You can fill the bag with hot water from your suite, or ask our team to help. Our suites do not have room heaters, so please bring warm sleepwear and insulating layers.
Mist, cloud and light rain are part of the highland setting. Conditions may shift quickly, even on otherwise clear days.

Good to know
On the coldest nights and before sunrise, temperatures at Arkaluna can occasionally fall to around 10°C during the colder dry-season period from June to September, particularly in July and August. Conditions naturally vary, so we strongly recommend bringing a warm jacket or insulating layers.
The time of sunrise is predictable, but whether you can see it, the mountains or a sea of clouds depends on the weather. These views cannot be guaranteed.
Crystal Nest guests can watch from bed, their private patio or the private jacuzzi, depending on weather and personal preference.
Our Crystal Nest Suites do not have room heaters. For a lower-energy way to keep warm, we provide a hot-water bag in every suite and extra blankets on request. Our team will be happy to help prepare your hot-water bag. As the highlands can feel cold before sunrise and after sunset, please bring warm sleepwear and insulating layers.
Please bring your own warm jacket or insulating layers for early mornings, evenings and cold nights. Jackets are not available to borrow or rent. Warm sleepwear, long trousers and socks can also make the coldest periods more comfortable.
